M.I.T. Professor admits: "No correlation between intelligence and wisdom"

Pulitzer Prize winner Junot Diaz was interviewed on NPR Sept 11/12 by Steve Inskeep on his latest book "This Is How You Lose Her". It tracks Yunior's struggles with fidelity, beginning with him cheating on his girlfriend and ending with him cheating on his fiancee with 50 different women.

Diaz tells NPR's Steve Inskeep about the theme of his book and the real-world circumstances that inspired it. (here)

During the interview Diaz said something quite stunning about the men who frequent his place of employment - M.I.T. (Massachusetts Institute of Technology).

Diaz:

"I teach at a town where supposedly the most intelligent brightest people come out of, develop, and work... I'm at M.I.T near Harvard, I have affiliation with Harvard, and I gotta tell you there is absolutely zero correlation between intelligence and wisdom"
Not knowing what Mr. Diaz' personal world view is does not prevent us from pointing out the obvious here. This is a case the believing community has been trying to make for hundreds of years and in fact, the religious tenet of atheism - elitism - is largely what prevents many non-believers from leaving the naturalism delusion bubble.

It is a sad, known reality that atheists pride themselves in the human intellect and by doing so, by leaning entirely on their own understanding, they are robbing themselves and those they influence of wisdom - a wonderful gift available by simply asking.

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
Proverbs 3:5

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
James 1:5
